The International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) has released its corporate Activity Report, detailing how the Institute has set its strategy and actions within the framework of the sustainable development of the refrigeration sector.

The IIR states refrigeration is present in most areas of human activity and is absolutely necessary for life. The Institute defines its goals and actions by working towards the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

According to the report, its purpose is to disseminate information, contribute to the intensification of scientific and technical exchanges and encourage research and development towards sustainability in this sector. The aim is to deploy these technologies around the world for the benefit of humanity, as well as to improve existing technologies to address the threats of environmental damage and resource depletion.

The IIR achieves its goals by keeping detailed databases and documents on refrigeration, publishing scientific journals and by holding conferences, seminars and workshops.
